Tag products in Instagram posts. Sell from them.
Shoprocket generates a Meta-format product catalog. Meta Commerce Manager ingests it. Your Instagram (and Facebook) posts, Reels, and Stories become shoppable with product tags. Updates sync automatically as you add products.
A product catalog Meta fetches automatically.
Shoprocket publishes your catalog as a URL in the format Meta Commerce Manager expects. You paste that URL once in Commerce Manager. Meta fetches it on a schedule, your Facebook Shop and Instagram Shop stay in sync, and product tags across Instagram (posts, Reels, Stories) light up automatically. No manual CSV uploads, no forgetting to update after adding a product.
Four steps, once.
1. Enable the Meta feed.
In the Shoprocket dashboard, go to Settings > Product Feeds and enable the Facebook / Instagram feed. A unique catalog URL appears.
2. Connect it in Commerce Manager.
In Meta Commerce Manager, create a catalog with source type "Data feed URL" and paste the Shoprocket URL. Meta fetches it, ingests your products, categories, prices, stock levels.
3. Tag products in content.
Once the catalog is live in Meta, you can tag products in Instagram posts, Reels, Stories, and Facebook posts via the normal native interface. Tags link to the product in your catalog.
4. Buyers click through to your site.
A product tag on Instagram opens the product on your Shoprocket-powered site. Buyer adds to cart, checks out, you get the sale. Meta no longer handles checkout for third-party catalogs, so the sale happens on your store as normal.
Everything Meta's catalog expects.
Generated from your Shoprocket catalog, refreshed on schedule, no manual export.
Product identity.
Title, description, product URL, main image, additional images, GTIN / MPN / SKU, Google product category mapping.
Pricing and availability.
Price (in your store currency), sale price, availability (in stock / out of stock) updated per the current inventory level.
Variants.
Each variant (size, colour, etc.) becomes a separate feed item with its own SKU, price, stock, and image. Meta presents them as selectable options on the product page.
Localized versions.
Each supported locale gets its own feed URL. Your Spanish-language catalog can feed a Spanish-targeted Meta catalog; likewise for French, German, and the other 21 supported languages.
Brand and identity fields.
Brand name, condition (new / used / refurbished), item groups for variants. Everything Meta needs to approve the catalog and show it in ads.
Shipping and tax hints.
Shipping weight (where defined), basic tax category hints. Detailed shipping rules live on your store; Meta uses the hints for estimated-shipping displays in ads.
Content creators, DTC brands, and anyone selling through social.
Instagram and Facebook sales channels are particularly valuable for three common patterns.
Content creators and influencers.
You post, tag your own products, sell directly to followers. The content already drives sales on Instagram; shoppable tags shorten the distance from post to purchase.
DTC and lifestyle brands.
If Instagram is your primary brand-building channel, product tagging turns every post into a potential sales surface. Works for apparel, beauty, home goods, accessories, anything visual-first.
Catalog-driven ads.
Meta Advantage+ Shopping Campaigns and Dynamic Product Ads pull from the catalog. A working catalog unlocks high-ROI ad formats most brands cannot run without one.
What this is NOT.
Feed-based integrations are powerful but one-way. Here is what Shoprocket does and does not do with Meta's APIs, so you know what you are signing up for.
We don't manage your ads.
The feed powers your catalog in Meta. Running, optimising, and tracking ad campaigns still happens in Meta Ads Manager. We do not publish ads on your behalf, manage budgets, or optimise creative.
We don't auto-tag your posts.
Tagging products in posts, Reels, and Stories is a manual step you do in the Instagram or Facebook app, using the catalog Meta ingested from Shoprocket. Tag automation is a separate tool category.
In-app checkout is off the table.
Meta has wound down in-app checkout for third-party catalogs. Buyers who tap a product tag are sent to your site for checkout. This is how every third-party Meta catalog works now, not a Shoprocket limitation, and it happens to be exactly Shoprocket's model: the sale completes on your own store.
We don't read Instagram analytics back.
The integration is one-way (your catalog goes to Meta). Shoprocket does not ingest Instagram impressions, clicks, or demographic data back into its own analytics. Use Meta Business Suite for those metrics.
